Susan McCullough
Susan McCullough began writing about animals more than 10 years ago. Since then, she's written hundreds of features aimed at helping people live happily ever after with their pets. McCullough's credits include Family Circle, The Washington Post, Dog Fancy, ASPCA Animal Watch, Dogs USA, AKC Gazette, AKC Family Dog, Dog World, Animal Fair, The Bark and the Popular Dogs series. She also is the family life columnist for Dog Fancy.
McCullough has written four books: Housetraining For Dummies, Your New Dog, Senior Dogs For Dummies and Beagles For Dummies. She is a three-time recipient of the Dog Writers Association of America's Maxwell Award for excellence in writing about dogs and a 15-time finalist for that same award. McCullough also received the 2001 Eukanuba Canine Health Award for excellence in writing about canine health. She has been a finalist for the Cat Writers Association's Muse Medallion for excellence in writing about cats.
McCullough shares a home with her husband, Stan Chappell, their daughter, Julie Chappell, and their Golden Retriever, Allie.
