Written by hoosierdog
Just looking to meet other labradors out there. Anyone know of any good things I can do over the weekend? Its summer, hot outside, so any ideas for a good activity that will keep me busy would be grerrrrreat!

I have two black labs
Packer has a kiddy pool loaded with about five cans of yellow tennis balls, he shreds them eventually, not good for mowing, its cold water in the shade and his favorite possesion.
We also dug a dig pit when they were puppies who dug up the yard, with two-by-fours and organic soil, they have frisbees a couple of nast ropes and several kongs stuck in there..and still love the cool soil.
we have access to a pond and I sit in the shade as they swim splash and dig..theyre a mess, but always seem to know where the shade is there.
urban hiking trails and parks are good for off leash if you either go early, late ,or its got so many trees and a couple of water holes to make it perfect for dogs to run wild at a time when people think its way too hot to be out.
we also take field trips to pet-co or smart, lowes and home depot. all air conditioned and they learn quickly that the last place before coming home is a place where they get a new chewie to bring home with them.
weekend morning IF we head out befor eit gets hot, they come to the farmers market or the flea market with us, one fea market is mostly indoors and that kinda cool, but the people are kinda seedy so I dont go often.
also...dog park dog park dog park...it helps with dog anxiety and they learn doggie social skills..hey whatever makes them happy right.
Im crazy about my labs, by the way...ha ha
