tom cat urinating

Hi, my mom's tom seems to be urinating in the same spot in the house.  He doesnt do it all the time just every now and again.  He generally goes out but for some reason he keeps urinating on this one spot in the house WHY

Jesjok, cats can urinate outside the box for many different reasons.  If the kitty is truly a "tom" cat and not neutered, that is most likely the biggest contributing factor to the inappropriate urinating or in your case marking territory.  With many cats, they are trying to communicate something to the owner through peeing on the floor.

Many cats have preferences about types of litter boxes, size of boxes, locations and brands of litter.  What is convenient and easy for the humans may not be for the cat.  We have a great article on this topic.  Click here to read more.

Please let us know how things are going and if you have more questions, we are happy to help!  Good luck and thanks for the question!
