scabs on his back end and raw paws that bleed

Hello, my shepherd is 10 years old, he's reall slowing down. For about a month , he has had these scabs on his back end, and under his arms. he bites at them, but not alot, like they bug him.

He has never had fleas. but he has a hotspot before, and these look nothing like them.

He also has very sensitve paws. they are always bleeding. not just one, but all for.

STK, I am sorry to hear your dog is having trouble with his skin.  Skin problems can be so challenging as it is often difficult to determine the cause.  Allergies frequently play a role in skin  troubles.  They may be due to something the dog is eating, inhaling or coming in contact with.  One of the most common allergies is food such as the regular diet or a treat.

Another medical problem that can cause a skin issue is a bacterial infection.  An infection like that most often requires medication to heal.  There are other things that can contribute to a skin problem such as an autoimmune disease or a hormone imbalance.

It is always a good idea to have the vet take a look so  you know what it is your a dealing with.  I hope this helps and I wish you good luck!  Please let us know what you find out and how your dog is doing.
