Potty trouble when guests come

Every time someone visits my apartment, my dog gets so excited she pees on the floor. I try to make her sit and have the visitor ignore her, but she still does it. She's 16 months old at this point, she's been through training, and even the trainer couldn't get her to stop. Any suggestions?

That certainly is a tough one. I knew a Golden Retriever that tinkled with excitement well into adulthood. Is there any possibilty of greeting guests outside? Does she pee with both male and female guests?

My Shih Tzu had this problem until she was almost two...I feel your frustration. Our Vet told us to scold her and immediately take her outside to go to the bathroom. After a month the issue went away. It is still not clear to me if it was the treatment or she grew out of it but it's worth a shot to avoid the embarrassment and clean-up.
