My mouse is itchy!!! Please help!!
Written by PinkNinjaStars
Can anyone please tell me what to do?! My mouse won't stop itching herself and is scratching all her hair off! I feel so bad and don't know what to do for her. I tryed dabbing a little cortizone cream on her, but that didn't help much. I think she might have some sort of bugs, but I don't know if there is any cream I could get to put on her. And I'm afraid to even think of maybe giving her a bath. She is hairless and bleeding on her back and I just can't watch her scratch herself like that! Ugghghg Please help.

PinkNingaStars, it sounds like your mouse may have a mite infestation, a bacterial skin infection or possibly an allergy (to food, treats or bedding). If it is a mite or bacterial infection, it can possibly be treated with medication. It is a good idea to have your mouse see the vet to find out exactly what is causing the scratching and to get the right medication to fix the problem.
If you have recently changed food or bedding brands, maybe that could be the cause of the scratching. Has anyone else out there had this problem with their mouse?
I have added some links (in blue) to several general information and daily care articles we have on mice. I hope this helps and let us know what you find out, good luck!
