My Cat Hides
Written by spursfan
I have a 14 year old, male tabby named Sam. I have recently started using the Advantage Plus flea treatment. Within minutes after application, he runs around and goes into hiding. The insert said it was a possible adverse reaction. Why? Does it hurt or make him feel ill?

Spursfan, it is hard to say how each individual animal will react to a particular flea treatment until you try it. An older animal may not be able to tolerate a product like a younger one would. If you have never used this type of application before, it may be that he just has no idea what that feeling is.
Whenever a animal has a side effect to any medication, it is always a good idea to check with your vet to see what they may reccomend. It may be helpful to call the 800 number on the product and speak to the customer service representitive and ask about this side effect.
There may be other products available through your vet that may work better for your geriatric kitty. Good luck I hope your kitty is doing well!
