Joint problems with my young lab

Recently my nine month old lab, that weighs approx. 70lbs, has been having a hard time getting up. It seems that his joints are really stiff. He was just walking with a slight limp and it seems to have moved into all of his legs. I have heard to use joint medicine, but am wondering if there are any other common problems like this with lab pups. Ant info would be greatly appreciated.

Nmfu3nt3s, I am sorry to hear your puppy is not getting around so well.  In my experience, the first thing that comes to mind is a medical condition called Panosteitis.  (click on the word to read our article).  Another condition that can cause lameness in dogs is Lyme disease.

It is always safest to remove the guess work and have your dog checked over by a vet.  That way you know what you are dealing with and how to treat it appropriately.

Good luck and please let us know how your dog is doing!
