Cat eye wet and drippy
Written by johnsmi82
Hi, I just saw that my son's pet cat has one eye that is drippy and wet. Is this soething of concern? Do I need to take him to the vet? Any impact on my son? He has had a cold recently and still has and is always with his cat.
thanks

If the kitty is still having the runny eye after a couple of days or is rubbing at it, you should have it checked out. Cats can encounter many things in the coarse of a day, especially if they go outside. There is a possibilty kitty got something in the eye that is causing irritation which in turn causes the eye to run. If he rubs his eye, he can scratch the eye and cause more problems.
Another possibilty can be an infection of some kind which would mean a trip to the vet for some medication. There is nothing that you can safely use from your own medicine cabinet to treat an eye problem.
If you have any concerns regarding exposure to your son you can check with his doctor.
