Labs are one of the easiest dogs to train. They just want to please you. There isn't anything specific to labs other than to remember they are very oral and must carry something around at all times.

Be sure to puppy proof your home as they (and most puppies) will seek and destroy your favorite something. They do tend to be chow hounds and don't know when to quit so schedule feeding is a must. If you are gone long days at work you will need to make arrangements for the pup to have potty time during the day. Before you buy, do your homework to insure you have found the healthiest, best temperament possible in your new companion. Good luck!
